The Best Garden Tool Sharpener

I bought the SHARPAL 103N All-In-1 Knife, Pruner, Axe & Tool Sharpener so that I can sharpen my garden tools.

I purchased this garden tool sharpener because it can sharpen a variety of tools, such as knives, mower blades, pruners, loppers, hedge shears, axes, machetes, hatchets, scissors, and other edged tools.

I appreciate tools that can serve multiple purposes and this one certainly does the job!

With a pair of bypass pruners in need of sharpening, I turned to the SHARPAL tool sharpener.

Before getting started with the SHARPAL tool sharpener I made sure to read through all instructions: safety being paramount!

While not perfect and lacking in clarity at times - particularly if you’re new to this task - Amazon and YouTube both have helpful videos that provide more detailed guidance when using this particular 103N All-in-1 Knife Garden Tool product from SHARPAL. I highly recommend that you watch those helpful videos beforehand.

Testing this tool was a rewarding experience! I marveled at the crisp and sharp blades that emerged after just a few passes. It made trimming my hydrangeas effortless – an impressive feat!

The only issue faced when using this tool is that the part of pruners in between their handles can't be reached for proper honing - an understandable limitation.

The sharpener held up well even after multiple uses: three entire hydrangeas couldn't dull them down!

I tested the sharpener on florist shears too and it worked well. Since the shears can be opened widely, I was able to sharpen the entire blade easily.

I also tried to test this on an older push lawn mower blade. If you've got a newer lawn mower, the SHARPAL 103N may be just what you need to keep your mower blade sharp. But for older, push mowers like the one my Mom has, it might not be the best option.

We didn't end up using it on her machine because she was worried about taking the blade off and not being able to put it back on. If you've got an easy-to-remove blade, you shouldn't have any problems with the SHARPAL 103N. But for older models, a grindstone may be a better choice.

The results speak for themselves - this tool is a must-have for anyone looking to keep their pruners and other garden tools in tip-top shape!

Limitations of the SHARPAL 103N All-in-One

The sharpener does have a couple of limitations however, if you know them beforehand I don't think they should discourage you from purchasing this garden tool.

Won't work on serrated blades

This is the most significant limitation of this sharpener: it won't work on serrated blades.

If you have a tool with these blades, look elsewhere for a sharpener that specializes in them.

Can miss a small part of the blade

If you are unable to adjust or disassemble your pruners for sharpening, it is possible to miss a small portion of the blade.

This can be noticed in some of the pictures I have taken.

Would I Recommend the SHARPAL 103N All-in-One Garden Tool Sharpener?

Yes, this garden tool sharpener has been an invaluable addition.

The SHARPAL 103N All-in-One Garden Tool Sharpener offers incredible value with its ability to sharpen blades quickly and easily, plus its compact design makes it easy to take with you wherever you go.

It will help to extend the life of your garden tools and make them last longer!
